Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

About Me

I am a NY and NJ State licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I completed my undergrad education at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), earning my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I continued my education, earning my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family therapy from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY. I am a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) as well as a member of the NY chapter for Marriage and Family Therapists (NYAMFT).

I conduct individual, couple and family therapy and I work with children, adolescents and adults. I focus on the empowerment of my clients by placing them in the role of experts of their experiences. I lead with curiosity & respect, creating an open & safe space to have dialogue so the clients can discover their own strengths and resiliences, develop new skills and increase their confidence to navigate and manage the challenges of life.

My areas of focus include but are not limited to: anxiety, depression, general relationship challenges (co-workers, friendships, etc.), relationship issues (marriage, partners, couple), parenting & coparenting, life transitions (new job, job loss, move, new family addition, etc.) performance anxiety, work-related stress and stress management.

IS TELE-THERAPY SAFE?

Yes. I utilize a HIPAA-compliant software to conduct safe, confidential tele-therapy sessions. The client does not have to download anything to participate in the session. I send an email with a link that directs the client to the virtual session when they click it.

Why is therapy so expensive?

Therapists must cover the costs to operate their practice (business insurance, marketing, tools and materials, office rent, etc.), maintain the costs of keeping their license active (renewal fees, CEU fees, etc.), and provide their own employment benefits that are not provided to those who are self-employed. If my fee is outside of your budget, still do not hesitate to contact me. If I cannot offer a price that you are seeking, I will be happy to provide you with resources and/or referrals that better match your needs.
